The fishing has been decent the past few days in the Liverpool and Mahantango area. We are finding the better fishing is happening later in the day with hatches of sulphurs and cahills coming off in the evening. Murdich Minnows, Clousers, and Boogle Bugs have been putting fish in the boat.
Yesterday we had some pretty erratic weather and it was neat to see how the fish responded to the multiple fronts that moved in throughout the day. Right before a storm passed through yesterday there was a noticeable increase in fish activity as we started to see more fish chasing bait and eating bugs off the surface. During this bite window we put a 20 inch smallmouth in the boat.
Next week I will be looking to do some trips down in the Fort Hunter and Duncannon area depending on the flows and water clarity. I am also dying to get out on the Juniata River but the flows have been high and muddy.
